One.ki Screw Air Compressor

An air compressor is a machine or device that creates and runs through compressed air. Air compressors are used to fill the tire air, clean dirty engine parts, provide air for the combustion process in the kettle / electric motor, spray painting process, compressors are also widely used for tools that use pneumatic systems.
The working principle of an air compressor is almost the same as a bicycle or car tire pump. When the piston from the pump is pulled up, the pressure under the cylinder will decrease under atmospheric pressure so that air will enter through the valve valve (valve) compressor. The valve (valve) of the compressor is mounted on the piston head and can tighten and loosen. After the air enters the cylinder, the pump starts to press and the piston and valve (valve) will go down and press the air, making the volume smaller.

The air pressure continues to rise until it exceeds the pressure capacity inside the tire, so that the compressed air will enter through the valve (valve). After being pumped continuously the air pressure inside the tire rises. The process of changing the volume of air located in the pump cylinder to be smaller than the initial condition is called the process of compressing (compressing air). Air compressors are divided into two parts, namely Dynamic Compressor and Displacement Compressor.
1. Dynamic Compressors use vanes or impellers that rotate at high speeds so as to produce a large volume of compressed air. Dynamic Compressors have two types, namely centrifugal compressors (radial flow) and axials.

  • Centrifugal compressors use high speed systems. Air entering through the middle of the compressor inlet is flowed through an impeller that rotates inside the volute casing before exiting to the compressor outlet.
  • Axial compressors use a dynamic rotation system which has a series of airfoil fans that function to suppress fluid flow. Axial compressors are usually used for gas / air turbines such as high speed boat engines, jet engines and small scale power plants.

2. Displacement Compressor is divided into two parts, namely Reciprocating Compressor and Rotary Compressor.

Reciprocating Compressors are often also referred to as piston / piston compressors. This compressor has three types, namely single acting system piston compressors, dual working system compressors and diaphragm compressors.

  • The single-acting compressor system is the same as a bicycle pump system with an almost constant outflow at a specified discharge pressure range.
  • Compressor Dual acting system in dual port inlet and outlet piston compressors on both sides. Single and double piston compressors have differences in the inlet and outlet ports
  • Diaphragm compressor system is a classic type of piston, and has similarities with the piston, the piston air compressor that passes through the outlet and the inlet is set by the piston, while the diaphragm compressor uses a flexible membrane or diaphragm.

Rotary Compressors use a rotary mechanism, generally used to replace piston compressors. Rotary compressors can achieve high pressure air with greater volume conditions. Rotary compressors are more popular in the industry because they are much easier to maintain and more durable. Rotary Compressors have a Screw Type, a Vane Type, and a Scroll type.

  • The Screw Type is a Rotary Screw Compressor using a screw system which rotates so that the air inside is compressed. These compressors are widely used in large industries that require air with high air pressure.
  • The Vane type is a Rotary Vane Compressor using a vane or blade that functions to compress the incoming air. Air entering from the inlet port is compressed by a vane or blade rotating inside the casing towards the outlet side.
  • Rotary scroll compressor is an elegant type of compressor. The scroll type compressor uses an air winding system, the outer edge rolls embracing air and when the roll rotates the air which is on the outer edge of the roll will move to the middle chamber of the roll and result in compressing the air in the middle room before going to its outline port.
